The Everest Base Camp Trek is the most famous trek in Nepal. After a thrilling mountain flight to Lukla, you follow the Dudh Koshi valley to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital, and continue past Tengboche Monastery to the high villages of Dingboche and Lobuche.
Two acclimatization days are built in to help your body adjust to the altitude. The highlight is standing at Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) and climbing Kala Patthar (5,545 m) for the best close-up view of Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse.
Airport pick-up, hotel transfer and trip briefing.
Mountain flight and a gentle first walk along the Dudh Koshi river.
Cross the Hillary suspension bridge and climb to the Sherpa capital with first views of Everest.
Hike to the Everest View Hotel and visit the Sherpa museum.
Walk above the river to the famous monastery facing Ama Dablam.
Enter the Imja valley with stone-walled fields and big mountain views.
Hike to Nangkartshang viewpoint for Makalu and Lhotse views.
Pass the climbers’ memorials at Thukla Pass.
Follow the Khumbu glacier to base camp, then return to Gorak Shep.
Early sunrise climb for the classic Everest view, then descend.
Long descent back through rhododendron forests.
Final day on the trail and a farewell evening with the crew.
Morning flight back to Kathmandu; free afternoon.
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
It is a challenging trek because of the altitude, not technical difficulty. You walk 5–7 hours a day; anyone with good fitness and some hiking experience can complete it with proper acclimatization.
Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most stable weather and clearest mountain views.
Yes. Insurance covering trekking up to 6,000 m and helicopter evacuation is mandatory for this trip.
